During production, siloxane-based water-repellent agents are uniformly dispersed into the gypsum slurry, forming a stable hydrophobic barrier around the gypsum crystals. This significantly reduces capillary water absorption. Combined with specially treated moisture-resistant facing and backing paper, the finished board achieves a water absorption rate of only 6.8% — far below the 20%+ typical of standard gypsum board. At the same time, the panel maintains a low weight of approximately 7.5 kg/m², which is about 25% lighter than conventional 12mm boards. This weight reduction directly translates into lower transportation costs, reduced labor fatigue during overhead installation, and faster overall project completion.

In terms of mechanical performance, the 9.5mm board delivers strong flexural strength: 560 N parallel and 180 N cross direction, comfortably exceeding GB/T 9775-2008 and ASTM C1396 requirements. The tapered or square edges ensure excellent jointing performance, while the smooth surface accepts paint, wallpaper, and textured finishes with minimal preparation.
